Support Girls That Rock’s Back-to-School Wellness Event

Dates: August 29–30, 2025 | Time: 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Location: Belleville, MI

GTR is inviting college and high school young women to serve as volunteers, interns, or work-study participants at our Back-to-School Wellness Event— a two-day experience that supports 6th grade girls in reconnecting, regulating, and resetting for the upcoming school year.

This is an excellent opportunity for students in the following areas of study to gain real-world experience in a high-impact, girl-centered environment:

  • Education

  • Social Work

  • Public Health

  • Psychology

  • Counseling

  • Youth Development

Qualifications

  • Must be age 17 or older

  • Must be available to complete at least 1 hour of service during the event

  • Comfortable working with middle and high school youth in a group setting

  • Friendly, responsible, and professional in communication and conduct

  • Passionate about education, mentorship, wellness, or event service

Girls That Rock Program Assistant

We are looking for a passionate and motivated program assistant to perform basic administrative duties while also supporting program facilitators on site to set-up and co-facilitate program activities.  This position is a hybrid position where some tasks will need to be completed in-person while some can be completed online.  These duties include but are not limited to responding to phone calls and emails, e- filing, managing schedules, while also assisting in event planning.   

Qualifications
Proficient with computer technology and Microsoft Office applications

Strong oral and written communication skills

Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills

Professional and pleasant demeanor to meet with clients and customers

Exceptional time management and organizational skills

Sharp attention to detail with an extraordinary ability to multitask

Reliable and diligent worker

Able to sit, stand and move around for long hours at a time

College & Career Prep Mentor

Members will participate in a program engaged in activities that provide them with tools and resources to help them set, analyze and ultimately achieve their goals. During this program, young women will:

Interact with other young women in a setting which promotes the values of self-awareness, teamwork, education, etiquette and confidence.

Participate in bi-weekly lessons, challenges and collaborative activities that are aimed to boost energy, communication, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.

Participate in fun relatable content for mentee groups

Receive guidance and learn techniques on how to successfully set goals

Utilize resources in an area that will assist in working toward the goals they set and ultimately achieving those goals.

Qualifications
Must commit a minimum of 25 hours throughout the program

Must be at least a freshamn years of age

Must complete Girls That Rock mentor application

Must submit a copy of job availability and/or extracurricular activity schedules
